Favorite Albums: #1: Sonic Youth- Daydream Nation

I will never forget when I first heard Daydream Nation. It was the summer of 1996 and I was about to leave for college. I had Dirty and Goo at that point and decided to pick up this older album on a friend's suggestion. It really changed my impression of Sonic Youth if not my life. Teen Age Riot was simply the best way to start off an album. I was hooked right away. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't heard this masterpiece yet so I'm going to be skimpy on the details. Suffice to say The Sprawl, Total Trash, Candle, and Hey Toni, and Eric's Trip are some favorites songs of mine. The whole album is pretty rockin. I want to know the story behind Providence. Anyone?
