The limit as Death Cab approaches Sell Out

I'm truly sorry to say this but well Death Cab now has all the atributes of being Sold Out. They have a major label record. But this is not the major problem. The problem is the younglings that now show up at their shows. I was fortunate enough to see them play last week with Stars opening up. What a friggin bill, right? Stars opening for Death Cab. How could that go wrong? Six eeevil high school girls show up and proceed to scream / giggle / be way too into themselves right behind me during Stars' set. Don't get me wrong- screaming "Whooooo!!!" when they play your favorite song is not a bad thing. I do it all the time. However, screaming about what boy you spilled your milk on and other such nonesense while other people are trying to listen to the band is a crime that should be punishable by ejection. The other people around me were pretty cool...first this dude standing next to me turned around and gave them the nastiest glare ever. Next, between songs I turned and shouted at them "could you please keep it to a dull roar while the band is actually playing?" Still they continued. The dude said something to them next and luckily for us they weren't standing behind us while Death Cab played.

Don't get me wrong, I still love their music and think they're swell people but this is probably the last show of theirs I go to. There is a price for success and it is the alienation of the old fans by the newer, stupider ones.

And that's my two cents.
