On losing soccer cred
Forgive a post about sports. It's the world cup semi-finals and France is in it plus week 1 of the Tour.
Anyhow, so this story about losing my soccer cred is an old one because it came from when I was proudly sporting my Zidane shirt to celebrate France's advance into the round of 16. At that time we had little hope they would beat Spain, let alone beat Brazil and end up in the semi-finals (allez les bleus!). So ma Cherie was in town and we went into the city. We found ourselves running into french friends all over because of the Zidane shirt. Kewl. Anyway so as we're in Penn station waiting for our train home, some dude shouts "Theirry Henry!" at me. And I'm all "Who?" and there went what little soccer cred I had. Thierry Henry is the French striker who scored the winning (and only) goal against Brazil. By the time we watched the Brazil game I knew who he was. Speaking of the Brazil game, the bar where we watched that one was more Brazillian than French and so I learned me some Portugese. Vie! Vie! means Go! Go! and PUNTA! means, well you should already know what punta means. I'll give you a hint it means the same thing as putain and is used in the title of my previous post.
Ok and now for something completely different- a few words on the tour. So you still like CSC? You should still like T-mobile 'cause of Kloden. And they got rid of the team time trial? That was the best part! Right?!?
Allez les BLEUS!!!
