These guys are idiots. Hey China! The space race ended more than thirty years ago! And what's more space programs in general are a meaningless distraction from real problems. I swear it's like the carrot and stick approach to 1984. The endless war (or in our case endless fear of terrorism- BE AFRAID! VERY AFRAID! SO AFRAID THAT YOU VOTE FOR A MORON) is the stick as Orwell wrote about in his classic novel. The carrot is the space race. Hey! We're going to the moon! Look over there! Disregard the starvation behind the curtain! And for the US it's the Mars mission. Let's go to Mars! The rich aren't getting richer while the poor get poorer, we're going to Mars! Yay!!! I have an idea, let's forget about Mars and focus all that attention on oh, say NOT BEING DEPENDENT ON OIL ANYMORE. The consequences of being dependent on foreing oil should be obvious at this point. But even if we had scads of oil in Texas it's still destroying the environment!

Oh, and you should all read Al Franken's new book, The Truth (with jokes) because not only is it funny it also brings up a lot of good points. Including how Bush won the 2004 election. I think it was mainly due to 1984-style drumming up of fear about constant war or in our case threat of terrorism. So everybody go home tonight and have nightmares and vote Republican! VOTE YOUR FEARS!!!!

A New War!

I saw "A New War" by Gip Hoppe as produced by Burning Coal, my local theater company. Kinda good. If you get a chance to see it put on by a theater near you go for it! It reminded me a lot of the idiot news people cartoons from This Modern World which I totally love. Someone needs to rip on the media for being the mouthpiece of the Bush administration and these people do a great job!

Some of you may have noticed the brief coexistence of two blogs, the Ghetto Blog for flaming liberal political commentary (and general blabbering about nonesense like my cat) and this one for blatherings about art as described in the broadest sense possible.

They have now been united here.

Fans of my angry rants about the news: never fear. They will appear. The next time Bush does something reeeaaaallly stupid, I'll be there to let you know that at least half of Americans know he's a tool. The next time a Republican gets thrown in jail, I'll be there to rejoice with you. When my cat ralphs up the kitchen sink, I'll tell you all about it.
