woody allen and the iggles

two entirely different subjects. one post. why? because i'm here.

ok so saw Scoop and Match Point. Match point was good except it was kind of weird how some of the dudes in it were wearing their shirts like way too open. like ok you should have the top button of a shirt unbuttoned. good. but like the top four to expose your bald-ass chest? that's too much. Match point was nothing earth shattering but if you like Scarlet Johansen well go for it. Sorry Scarlet, but I think you have a little too much upper lip. But that's just me. Ok so Scoop. More Scarlet Johansen plus Woody Allen himself in it and a comedy. Better than Match Point. Especially if you feel like seeing Woody Allen as Woody Allen. Not that he was explicitly playing himself but you know, he was doing his Woody Allen shtick. Also Scarlet Johansen was actually funny. Did I already post about Match Point? Because it's been a while since I saw it. Oh, well. Funny that both had Scarlet Johansen and were set in England.

Now, the iggles. Despite their overtime loss to the G-men, I'm gonna predict they're back in charge and will win the NFC east and maybe even go to the NFC title game again. They DID LOSE to the G-men, BUT they were pretty much in control of that game until the Westbrook fumble. They contained Tiki Barber which showed they have a run defense this year plus McNabb was rockin' and rollin' (I'm forgiving him for that false start penalty weirdness) so if they can get over these kinds of start-of-the-season mistake type things (e.g. fumbling the football to give possession and the momentum to the other guys) they should kick some arse.

Dream Within a Dream

Wow, two posts in a row. Been a while since that's happened!

Anyway so I had this dream where I was living with the people I lived with in grad school again only there was this weird shelf in the shower where you could like climb up there if you wanted. So one dude was always climbing up there and one of the other dudes thought that was really weird like the dude who climbed up there was going to fall or something. Then I woke up or changed dreams or something and then I was dreaming that I was up on a really high balcony and there was this ferret. And somehow we scared it (I was with a few other people including the grad school roommate who thought the other one was being weird about climbing up to that spot in the shower) and it jumped for it. Turned out it was like a flying squriell ferret and flew to the first floor apartment across the courtyard and into the shower that also had a funny spot you could climb up to. Then it fell from there and hurt itself. So I say to the grad school buddy how weird it was that the flying squriell ferret fell and he was always saying how the other grad shcool buddy was going to fall. And he was like what? And then I realized it was a dream (in the dream) and I explained to the grad school buddy that I just dreamed that the other buddy was getting into that spot in the shower and he was saying how he'd fall or whatever. And then I woke up.

So there you go. Dream within a dream.

i love my job

and i am 100% serious. no really, i am. i've been reading the devil wears prada and it makes me think about my old job and let's just say i thank my lucky stars for this new whatnot i've been doing.

what else?

eagles looked good today.

playing the drums again.

went to cape hatteras labor day weekend. had no cell phone service on ocrakoke island.

summer has come and gone and being back in the northeast reminds me of how that goes up here. see down in the south when the summer's over you think wow, i survived another summer. that's great. up here on the other hand, you're kind of sad to see the summer leave 'cause it's really quite pleasnt. it's like how you should feel about summer. happy for it to arrive and sad to see it go, not traumatized by it.

i gots laundry to fold. yay.
