I hate it so much when Bush brings up 9/11.

How can he continue to use one of the worst tragedies in our country's history for his own political gain? He truly is scum. We all knew he was an idiot but every time he mentions 9/11 he proves himself to be slime.

...last night I dreamt I had to go to Mars...

Last night I dreamt about Star Trek. Actually I had this dream a bit ago but whatever. The Enterprise was stuck in a snowstorm and Spock was trying to pilot them out of it. By "pilot" I mean he was giving orders to Sulu like quadrant numbers and such and sort of gradually getting them out. Kirk thought it was some kind of illusion (and it was) but Spock convinced him to relax and let him shave him. Yes, I dreamed Spock shaved Kirk. Only his face, I swear. When Spock got to the tricky part of the face around the lower neck where I always give myself a zillion little cuts (and I was interested to see how he would do it) he did some ninja move and I couldn't really see how exactly he shaved that spot. Kirk took a nap or something after his shave and Spock went back to directing Sulu.

People throw stuff at me when I'm on my bike

I am ready to leave the South. Some asshole in a black SUV threw a bottle of water at me as I rode my bike home from work today. The South is its own country and I don't like it down here. People are ultra-conservative and opinionated and throw stuff at people riding their bikes. That's not cool. I'm outta here. Not soon enough.

Mrs. Henderson Presents

Saw this movie a bit ago and should probably let all y'all know it was kinda funny. Also there were boobies. It's not going to change your life or anything but it's worth watching. I'll give it one foo out of bar.

Shopgirl

Saw shopgirl the other day...was kinda good...I thought Clair Danes was hotter than that though...looking back on it I guess her chin always did bug me. Anyway, it was a good movie except for the Steve Martin voice-over bits...like after a scene or something he would narrate a little bit, basically sounded like he was reading from the book or something. And it was weird. But Sun Kil Moon was in the movie with their music over some scenes and even a small part. So that was good. Whats-his-name who was also in the Huckabees movie is always entertaining to watch so that was good too. Over all I give it three foos over the bar.

The End of an Era

My grad school peeps are leaving. I'm about to head home myself and although I've been looking forward to getting out and going home for a long time it's still sad now that it's actually happening. I *know* I won't miss the city or the region but I will miss the people and that's the sad part...we packed up one of my boys yesterday and two of the other peeps left last week. It's kind of sad to think about it and realize that they won't be there for you to drink beer with anymore. Out of an incomming class of about thirty there are about a dozen of us left at this point. And I've been listening to Low's new album which is pretty rockin' and features their "had to sell the farm, back to california where it's warm" song about gettin' out and goin' home. It's totally the song for right now...I guess I'll be happier about the thing I've been dying to do for the last [too long] once I actually do it but being still here while other people are getting out is sad even though my tickets outta here are being processed...

Last night I dreamt my sister and a friend of hers stole a cop car. They drove it around campus a bit. When they got out of the car the lights would start flashing. They were eventually stopped not by more cop cars but someone driving a pickup truck that said it was from the police department. The dude in the pick up just pulled up behind them and they got out and started running but he caught them.
